High Rock Lake

High Rock Lake is a large reservoir located in Davidson and Rowan counties in central North Carolina, United States. It was created in 1929 as a hydroelectric power generating dam and is the second largest lake in North Carolina with a surface area of 15,180 acres.
High Rock Lake boasts over 365 miles of shoreline and is a popular spot for fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming, and camping. The lake is stocked with various fish, including bass, catfish, crappie, and striped bass.
The lake has several marinas and public access points including Tamarac Marina, Wildlife Access Area, and Salisbury City Park. The High Rock Lake Marina and Campground is located on the southern end of the lake and offers boat rentals, fishing supplies, and camping facilities.
High Rock Lake is also home to the annual U.S. Open King Mackerel Tournament, which takes place in October and attracts anglers from all over the country.
